The Ramped Team

We once were children that built homepages in elementary school, oogled the latest 486 PCs, and built Michelangelo masterpieces with macaroni noodles. Now that we’re “grownup”, we’ve banded together in aim of forming the most hardcore kickball team / innovative technology company on the internet playground. Check out our starting lineup!

David Gorman—Founder

Gorman, as he is called by nearly everyone that knows him (some family included), has been in the trenches of the ’net starting before he was even of legal age to work. He’s traveled the bumpy .com road, which has provided him tremendous insight and fun dinner-time stories. Thanks to the various companies he’s worked for and started on his own, he’s developed a very diverse skill-set. He can code your website, form your company, recompile your kernel, or even Photoshop your Aunt Bob out of your vacation pictures. However, his strongest skills are his innate abilities to both lead a team and develop creative, innovative ideas. Gorman looks forward to putting all of his skills (hopefully minus the Photoshop ones) to use at Ramped Media to help build and continue driving forward the company. Oh, and Gorman works for tea and chicken marsala.

Tess Baklor—Project Manager

Tess isn’t your regular, well, anything. That’s also exactly why she’s part of the team. She comes up with ideas that will keep the developers busy for the rest of their natural lives, organizes said ideas so nicely that the founders click their heels with glee, and makes some tasty homemade pie too. However, ideas and pie aren’t the only elements required to make the Ramped Media team (the pie really, really helps though). You have to be passionate about your ideas. You have to be able to yell your ideas from rooftops (NDA taken into consideration) to prove your commitment to them. A regular person doesn’t have that ability, which is why we have our Tess.

Jeff Reynolds—Lead Designer

Jeff spent his early years in sunny San Diego, California before picking up and moving to the creative haven that is Portland, Oregon. Having been immersed in creative and artistic circles for years (both online and off), it only made sense that he would quickly develop a love for the study of user interface and interaction. He makes great use of his talents in both design and usability at Ramped Media by making projects look the way they should, and function in an intelligent, intuitive manner. Courting Jeff was no easy matter, however. As a finicky designer (what designer isn’t?), he had many demands before becoming part of the team, which included a claw-footed bathtub full of marshmallow fluff and a llama. He is still waiting for his llama.

Chad Ingram—Lead Developer Extraordinaire

Chad was lead developer at first sight, as they say. He had it all. The cell phone heavily scratched from being thrown across the room during late-night coding sessions, a sick addiction to project management software, and even the twisted personality that comes from debugging code for 80 hours only to discover it’s a bug in the programming language. He even managed to be hardcore while having an oh-so-soft shell. A few pages of legal documentation later (it should be mentioned that we first worked with him after he hacked into our server), he was officially Ramped Media’s lead developer.

Ethan Thiel—Developer

The “ethan” is quite the enigma. That largely has to do with the incomplete and unverifiable identity. However, we didn’t discover the “ethan.” It discovered us. We were standing in line at a local bakery awaiting a freshly baked loaf of marbled rye when we realized we were the ones baking. Yes indeed, we were on fire. The “ethan” had lit our hair on fire. It was uncomfortable at first, but we quickly grew to appreciate the tingling sensation. Maybe it was the dandruff. Anyway, as we were talking with the police, we found out that the “ethan” was more than just a human arsonist. It possessed the rare ability to master just about any programming language in a very short timeframe. It wasn’t long before we locked the “ethan” in the Ramped Media office and put it to work on whatever our cruel hearts desired. Have no fear though, we feed the “ethan” a proper mix of lighter fluid and caffeine powder 3 times daily.

Wesley Beary—Developer

Raised by rabid gorillas, monki has more than a little experience picking off bugs. Leaving behind a promising bare-knuckle boxing career he joins Ramped to beat code into shape with his mastery of fisticuffs and plenty of caffeine. monki cuts a wide swath, letting his passion for coding guide his hand. Do not dismiss his code because he might be crazy, accept his code because he is crazy.
